We, Carola and Colin, the owners, thank you for your enquiry. Cedar Beach is a first class, oceanfront retreat. Formerly an English gentlemanīs country residence on totally unspoilt Thetis Island, one of the Pacific Southern Gulf group near the famous San Juanīs of the USA. Our guests from around the world choose either to self cater and enjoy the peace and isolation, or to let our VIP service take care of all their needs !We believe that nature, adventure and wine blend well to make great vacations. Therefore we planted 1800 vinus vinifera grapes just 10 minutes walk away, to establish Thetis Island Vineyards – proof of the warm, dry mediterranean climate here ! Sea kayaking and mountaineering expeditions in BC, the Yukon and Alaska have given us insight into the West Coast. On request we guide our own guests on personalised cultural and adventure tours, and in the English, French or German languages. We know that most West Coast destinations cannot match us on accomodation, class of location, facilities, service, flair and price. This is not cheap hype – we changed our lifestyles and emigrated from Europe, just to do this !

The 2000 square foot ranch style house and 560 square foot solid cedar cottage are brightly and tastefully renovated, each bedroom has a private bathroom. Kitchens are well equipped. The house has a luxurious Rhodesian Red Teak dining table handmade by Zulu carpenters in Natal. It also has a piano in a whitewashed, high ceilinged living room with exposed cedar roof beams for musical soirees ! Both residences have polished oak floors and natural stone fireplaces. Privacy is ensured by an 80 metre wide screen of vines, firs and cedars between house and cottage. Magnificent, close up ocean views south towards the Trincomali channel can be seen from both residences. Naturally sea kayaks plus instruction, BC wine tasting and Thetis Island vineyard tours, an eco-cultural tour of Thetis Island, bicycles, garden hot tub and indoor and outdoor games are available free of charge to all guests. The Cedar Beach cruise boat is available for excursions, diving or fishing charters by guests.
