A Mountain Cottage is located in Micheaux State Forest in the heart of Pine Grove Furnace State Park. It is just approx. 15 miles from Gettysburg. This wonderful and cozy cottage is waiting for you. If you are tired of the hustle and bustle and just want to get away, look no more. We are close enough to all the attractions of Gettysburg and more, but far enough to enjoy total tranquility. You have an entire house with all the comforts of home. The kitchen is fully equipped with a coffee maker, stove, microwave, and refrigerator. Sit and relax or have a meal on our open air deck or screened porch surrounded by woods. Listen to the sound of the creek and enjoy the smell of the pines. Rest around the campfire which you can make right next to the cottage in our fire pit. Just minutes fromt the cottage are 2 gorgeous lakes. It is a five minute walk to Laurel Lake and a 15 minute walk to Fuller Lake. There is a canoe here for your use and plenty of trails for hiking and biking. If you like dining out, there are some great restaurants located in nearby Carlisle or Gettysburg. We are centrally located to a host of attractions. Of course, Gettysburg is just 25 minutes away, but there are many day trips you can take. Hershey Park, Cowan's Gap State Park, Colonel Denning State Park and Adam's County Winery. The playhouse in the heart of Caledonia State Park offers theatre productions. Lancaster County is only an hour and a half away to enjoy the Amish and the great Pennsylvania Dutch food. You can't beat the great outlet shopping in Gettysburg, Hershey and Lancaster. If you like antiques, New Oxford is a charming town full of antique shops only minutes from Gettysburg. The Appalachian Trail comes within 4 miles of the cottage. So if you need some getaway time, you won't be disappointed in "A Mountain Cottage" as your vacation destination.
