You can walk to the Bay access at the end of road (only 5 minutes away) where during low-moderate surf you can snorkel, swim and kayak. Untouched by commercialism, the nearest secluded Honomalino Beach lined with coconut trees and containing archaeological sites, is 20 minutes hiking from Milolii Beach Park. It is what real Old, Hawaii was on the island and is perfect for the adventurer. A leisurely drive away is the Kailua-Kona downtown shopping areas where you will find a variety of clubs, stores and restaurants. You may wish to dine at the “Captain Cook”, one of the other surfers type restaurants on winding roads that criss-cross the island. Avoid crowded condo complexes and small hotel rooms.
