Skyline View Cabins are the newest and best vacation lodging available in Southern Illinois. From your cabin's front porch, you can see the rolling hills of the Shawnee National Forest, Bald Knob Cross, and an array of wildlife. There are 20 acres of hillside woods to tromp through, which join a walking path that takes you to Alto Pass, home of the Root Beer Saloon, antique shops and the famous Atomic House. All main level cabins have vaulted ceilings in the living room, kitchen and bedrooms, with real fireplaces, satellite TV and DVD player. Cabins come furnished with leather look sofas, chairs with ottomans, and a dining table that seats 4-6 people. Local art has been used to decorate all of the cabins. (All work seen on display is for sale). The kitchen is fully furnished, and laundry facilities can be used by those staying for the week. Completed in 2007-2008, Skyline View Cabins are close to all that Southern Illinois has to offer. They are owned and operated by Jan York, a local artist and gallery owner.
