Cubertou "Rural enchantment within easy drive of too many beauty spots to list." So writes a recent visitor.

Cubertou : today's comfort and yesterday's charm. Converted by an artist and his ballerina wife from a farm to an arts centre in the 1960s, with eleven bedrooms, ample bathrooms etc., a kitchen entirely refurbished in early 1997, a large peacock blue "salon", it provides comfortable accommodation for groups of around 20, whilst retaining its French country-style charm.

Accommodation is arranged around a central courtyard – with rooms in the main house and in converted out-buildings. The largest barn, open onto one side of the courtyard, provides deep shade for daytime cool, as well as a candle-lit dining area in the evening. Another smaller barn can also be used for group activities or indoor games.

Cubertou is at the end of its own drive, well away from the (country) road, in 10 hectares (c. 25 acres) of meadow and woodland near the quaint medieval village of St Martin le Redon, Lot, in unspoilt SW France.
