ARE YOU READY FOR THE BEST MAINE CAMPING EXPERIENCE EVER???
As we approach the opening of our treasured family cottage to prepare it for sharing with your family a zillion details get on the list of to does. Most important are the needs of our guests. In order to make sure everything is covered we ask that you let us know as well in advance of your arrival of any must haves or special needs. Everything possible will be done to accommodate you.
Winter as usual is longer than most of us like. That doesn't lengthen summer. Please get your reservations in ASAP so as to assure yourselves that you have the best time slot for yourselves.
For returning guests you will find a new gas furnace. New guests will delight in the hard to find privacy, huge deck, incredible view, shoreside fire pit, boat dock and swim raft. All the features and then some all in place as the basis for building treasured family memories. The surrounding wooded back lots are available to explore and provide a source to gather firepit wood. A washing machine, lots of fans dehumidifier, canoe and gas grill are included. We even State test the well water each year. Special needs accommodated if possible.
The shore is protected by natural rocks that buffer it from boating and natural wave action. It is a drop of about 3 to 4 feet to the water. For very young children a pass to use the very sandy and gradual Readfield beach is an option.
Sleeping beds include a full sized bed, a bunk bed set, and futon on the main floor. The good sized loft, dubbed The Crow'sNest, has a full size plus a single bed allowing for a super sleep over. Don't forget this is a bring your own towels and bedding experience.
Not to be forgotten are the wonderful Loons of Maranacook. The lake provides plenty of fish for man and birds. Besides Loons there are Great Blue Heron, Canada Geese, many variety of Ducks, Owls and the smaller song birds. A walk to the Family Market over the back drive may spook deer, fox, raccoon or rarely moose. Endangered plants may also be seen. We proudly share with you, life as it should be, our slice of Maine.
