Formerly, The Shenandoah River Inn This historic victorian farmhouse, circa 1810, formerly served as the stagecoach inn and for weary travelers crossing the Shenandoah River. Situated on four private, riverfront acres nestled between the Blue ridge and Massanutten Mountains, this magnificent property provides the perfect setting for a romantic getaway, a retreat to nature or a family vacation. There are three bedrooms, each with its own working fireplace, queen or king-sized bed and private bath with Jacuzzi tub. An additional bedroom with its own private quarters, a vaulted ceiling and direct river views, is available upon request. The living room is cozy and warm, with white clapboard walls, built-in bookshelves and a wood burning fireplace. There are two enclosed porches -- an upper and a lower -- as well as a 20 X 24 ft. sunroom with wall-to-wall wrap-around windows offering astonishing views of the river, the mountains and the nearby farms. All rooms are furnished in period pieces and oriental rugs. Nearly all of the floors are original wide-board and random-width pine. There is lawn furniture, a barbeque grill and a six-person Jacuzzi spa outside. There are numerous out-door activities at your disposal. You may choose to fish for bass from your private river bank ... explore the river by kayak or canoe ...hike the Appalachian Trail . . . mountain bike across the Shenandoahs ... hang-glide from Woodstock Tower... ski Massanutten . . . visit Luray Caverns and the numerous antique shops nearby ... or just sit back and watch the eagles, ospreys and blue herons soar from point to point on the water. When you return home, you can watch the stars while soaking your tired muscles in the outdoor Jacuzzi tub; curl up by the fire with a book; or watch a movie on cable or DVD.
