Slice of Heaven

I stayed in this wonderful gite for one week with my friend. It was completely idyllic. First and foremost, the beds were wonderful. The owners had made them up with REAL antique linen sheets. I slept so well that I never had any jet lag! The house has all the comforts of home. The bathroom is like a spa! We so enjoyed having the choice to either come home with our market purchases and make a gourmet meal in the wonderful kitchen, or go out for the evening to one of the many fine restaurants in the village. The entire village is storybook pretty. Everywhere one looks could be a postcard. The shops are very attractive and filled with beautiful and artistic items. It is an artists' village. There is a lot to do around the area, too. Having a car is essential. One may visit cave paintings and chateaux. Or go wine tasting at the many vineyards near Cahors, or swimming in the river. There are many wonderful markets in the area. The bicycling is WORLD CLASS. The town of Sarlat is nearby and worthy of a day trip. I had such a good time, I plan to go back next year. If I could retire here, I would. I felt so welcomed in this special community. I have traveled all over France and never seen any prettier place.
