Property Description
Villa Clarissa is a stylish vacation rental villa overlooking Orient
Beach on the Caribbean island of St Martin. The villa is located in
one of the most popular resorts in the West Indies. It has three
bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of which is en suite. It is
tastefully furnished and fully air-conditioned, with satellite T.V.
and a C.D. player. There is a fully equipped kitchen and regular maid
and pool services. Villa Clarissa has its own swimming pool and
garden, which combine privacy with a stunning view over the turquoise
ocean to the neighbouring island of St Bart’s. The famous Orient
Beach, with its mile and a half of white sand, has been voted best
beach in the Caribbean. The bars and restaurants that are scattered
along the beach provide a variety of food and drinks. There are also
numerous water sport activities on the beach. Close at hand is Le
Village, where you can find shops, restaurants, and internet access.
Grand Case, one of the gourmet resorts of the Caribbean, is ten
minutes away by car. The climate is tropical but Orient Beach is
cooled by the Alizes (Trade Winds) throughout the year. St Martin can
be reached by direct flight from Europe and the US.
Saint
Martin lies on the northern side of an island, which, uniquely, is
shared between two nations, yet has no official border. Sint Maarten,
the southern side of the island is part of the Netherland Antilles.
French St Martin is presently a Commune of Guadeloupe, an Overseas
Department of the French Republic. It is in the process of forming
its own constitution, like its neighbouring island, St Barts,
independently of Guadelaoupe. It is part of the European
Union.
The atmosphere on the French side is a
magnetic combination of Caribbean Creole and cosmopolitan France. The
food is typically of high quality, yet you can dine in casual
clothing. Some of the beach restaurants, particularly at Orient Bay,
deliver menus that would grace the finest restaurant – without the
price! Marigot, the capital is an eclectic mixture of open-air
market, fresh fish stalls and high quality boutiques and restaurants.
It has two marinas, the smaller and more sheltered of which, Marina
Royale, allows you to lunch or dine within touching distance of the
water’s edge. The Dutch side can be livelier, with its discotheques
and casinos. The shops in Front Street provide an unrivalled
opportunity to buy high quality jewellery at duty free prices.
