Property Description
Bedrooms: 4. Bathrooms: 3
This very private cabin with 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and 23 acres of land
is within ten min to Boone or historic Valle Crucis, North Carolina
and within 10-15 miles of the local ski slopes, Blowing Rock, Banner
Elk and all major tourist attractions. This large cedar-sided
cottage sits on a plateau of 23 acres of private land with only one
other house that has a commanding view of the surrounding North
Carolina and Tennessee Mountains and valley below. This private
retreat offers deer feeding stations and coveys of wild turkey that
roam the land. There is both forest and fields to explore right on
the property. A small steam meanders along just at the bottom of the
driveway across the field which joins with the Watauga River 1/4 mile
down the road for fishing and tubing or just cooling your feet. This
home is beautifully decorated with all new brand-name furniture,
antiques, local hand-made quilts and goose-down covers, and offers
all the comforts of home in a mountain atmosphere with local crafts
and original art. Except for the playroom and kitchen, the house has
all hardwood floors with plenty of area rugs to add color and
comfort. In the living room with its cathedral ceiling, cozy up on
the overstuffed chairs or sofas and feel the warmth of the Vermont
Casting gas fireplace or watch the 36 inch satellite TV with pay-per
view movies. Enough relaxing? The game room has a full size pool
table, loads of toys and games for kids, and an additional TV for
those who want a different channel. The dining area with its antique
drop-leaf table and antler chandelier sits ten comfortably or you can
have a smaller crowd in the kitchen where there is an solid oak
breakfast room table. In summer or winter if you want to really relax
head outside to the hot tub with its incredible night sky - watch
shooting stars and the Milky Way without light
pollution!
Listen to the barn owls and other wildlife in their
natural habitat where they feel so at home they do not even run from
cars. The patio has outside seating and for chilly nights there is a
large firepit. The house also has a screened-in, heart pine porch
with rocking chairs for a summer night's card game or just listening
to the crickets. Each of the bedrooms is furnished with the best of
linens. There are 2 queens, one king, and two sets of bunkbeds.
There are 3 baths, one with whirlpool tub. The kitchen has Whirlpool
appliances, and Italian tile.
