Location: Royal Kuhio, Waikiki, South Oahu, Oahu, Hawaii, USA (7 miles from HNL Airport - Condo is on the public Bus Line) Accommodations: Condominium, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-4) Gary’s Place is not a hotel and not on the beach, no surprises here. I can, however, help maximize your vacation budget and give you a choice. LOCATION: Located at the intersection of Kuhio and Royal Hawaiian Avenues. This places you at the hub of Waikiki. The beach is a short walk, bus service in front of the building, several convenience stores within ½ block, tourist shopping within 1 block, super market short blocks, International Market Place is 3 short blocks. Walk, ride, or drive you are in the right place. THE BUILDING: The Royal Kuhio is 38 stories tall and has a number of preferred amenities. Entering the beautiful lobby you will notice the security station and 'keyed' access doors to the elevator lobbies. The 7th floor boasts a number of options. You can simply sun bathe, or avail yourself of the pool, exercise room, saunas, or putting green. To keep the kids occupied the 7th floor also offers ping pong, billards, paddle tennis, and ½ court basketball. Both charcoal and gas BBQ’s are available. A large covered carpeted open air lanai is available for your enjoyment. Just in case you need to wash a few clothes the 7th floor coin operated laundry has more than 20 washing and drying machines. In building parking is available for a daily fee with unlimited 'in/out'. THE CONDO: Gary’s place is privately owned and non smoking. It is located on the 30th floor of the building facing the quiet and serene Ala Wai, golf course, and the mountains. The condo is designed to offer the client a wide range of choices. For example, the full kitchen permits you the choice of full meal preparation, light meals, snacks, or just cold drinks. Temperature comfort: open the lanai door and feel the breeze, or turn on the ceiling fan, or for those that like it simply cold close the door and “crank up” the A/C. BATHING OPTIONS: The combination tub shower allows you to choose either a soothing “soak” in the tub or a refreshing shower ranging from very cool to steaming hot. ENTERTAIN

This is an unbeatable location as a vacation rental in Waikiki. All the tourist spots, shops, beaches, restaurants, everything is within walking distance. The highway is very easy to catch if you have a rental car and the buses (public transportation) stop in front of the building. There is a 24/7 security guard and it is in a great neighborhood. The kitchen is fully equipped. The condo has a good fan and A/C. The views from the Lanai are amazing and we enjoyed our afternoon and morning tea/coffee outside as it was nicely shaded. Gary was fantastic! He took his time to provide guidance on the must-sees in Oahu and a lot of great tips, especially as first time visitors. We were very highly satisfied. We wish we could have gotten this place on the our last leg of our journey but it was taken – it is clear to see why! My Response Aloha Manisha, thank you for your review of Gary's Place. Garys place is excellent has everything you need for your stay the kitchen is very well stocked the bed is very comfortable as is the couch did not need the air conditioner as the condo was always cool with the two fans view from the 30th floor is great if you rent a car their is a parking spot provided...The location is perfect for the beach, restaurants and shops also the bus stop is right in front of the building...I am booking again for next year at is perfect. Exactly what we needed. A convenient short walk to just about anywhere in Waikiki and the free parking was great when we rented a car to explore the rest of the island. The building seemed very safe and always has a security guard in the lobby. My Response Great travelers! What a wonderful experience you must have had! FellowTraveler606418 Great place to stay in Waikiki Left on May 5, 2017 for a stay in Apr 2017 Close to everything. Short walk to the beach. Everything you need is there. Nice view of Ala Wai canal and the mountains. Clean unit. Quiet between units, though traffic noise is always there. That's Waikiki. The apartment is really awesome. Everything clean and organized. Kitchen with all appliances. Bath and beach towels. Cooler and body boards available inside the apartment. Bed is awesome - big and firm, I loved it. The localization is perfect - walking distance from Waikiki and near the mall. Gary was very nice since our first contact trough email. Fast and politely in every answer. I highly recommend this apartment. Recommended for: Families with Young Children, Tourists without a Car, Adventure Seekers, Romantic Getaway, Families with Teenagers My Response When planning ones vacation there are always questions! Garys place was perfect for our family vacation. Two of my older children stayed here and could easily walk to waikiki beach or go shopping whenever they wanted. If the didn't want to drive, the Bus stopped right out front. I felt comfortable with a security guard always present and a key required to get into the parking lot and into the building. The free parking stall was a big plus. No coming home late having to search for a spot! Garys place was clean and even had beach toys and towels to borrow if needed. My kids really enjoyed their stay. My wife, daughter and I spent a week in Gary's place at the Royal Kuhio and it was a great base for us to explore Waikiki, Honolulu and beyond. It was out first time to use VRBO, our first time to Hawaii so we had a few "What if" and "How do we" worries; all of which were unfounded; Mahalo to Gary and the Kuhio staff that made everything easy as apple pie. The Kuhio is on Kuhio Avenue which is one of the main bus routes across Honolulu. This means you can easily get around once you have a map of The Bus network. It is walking distance from everything in Waikiki. The condo itself has everything you will need for a great stay; beach stuff, plentiful towels and bedding, great kitchen equipment and a fresh breeze off the mountain being on one of the upper floors. So, if you are happy fixing your own breakfast and are happy using public transport to get around, based in a condo complex that shows a little sign of its age (there are newer blocks, thus 4 stars), this could be a great place for a holiday that will not break the bank! If you want to rent a car (Alamo was 5 minutes walk and great), then it costs only around 15$ a night for parking and is easy to sort out in the office on the first floor. Really, there is nothing negative I can say about our entire experience. Thanks so much!

Left on Jul 28, 2015 for a stay in Jul 2015 Gary's place is the perfect place to stay in Waikiki. On Kuhio bld, the place is close to everything (beach, stores, fun ... :-) very clean and fully equipped especially with the kitchen. The facilities of the condo were also very much appreciated: pool, fitness room, landry, bbq ... Last but not least, Gary was very kind and helpful before our arrival and at the beginning of our stay. Thank you very much Gary. I spent 2 weeks in Gary's condo in the Royal Kuhio Hotel. This is very nice, well stocked condo on the 30th. floor with gorgeous views of the Ko'olau Mountains! Gary is an excellent host and takes care of everything promptly and was very accommodating to my needs for an early arrival into the condo. Great location in central Waikiki with the Bus stop close and the beach and Kalakaua Ave. just 2 blocks away! Mahalo Gary for helping to make my move to Oahu a little easier!
