Imagine a sober, elegant building of the XIX century, situated on the hills of Gargano. Imagine around it olive-groves, the characteristic fragrance, that only this very land can have. Surrounded by many points of interest, such as the Archangel Michael Basilica in Monte Sant’Angelo, the Umbra forest , the white high cliffs of the coast nearby, the house makes a perfect base from which to explore the area. It is very nicely suited to simply relaxing in a quiet area. Although the beaches (both rock and sand) are not far from here, and there are hill towns a plenty to discover in the valley and nearby mountains. Fully equipped villa features: two rooms, a huge kitchen with an original made of stone fireplace and a living room with a wooden top floor that accommodates the double bed. Two comfortable single sofa-beds in the lounge area complete the sleeping possibilities. Also, on the roof of the villa there is another terraced apartment sleeping two with air conditioning and luxury details. You can enjoy an incredible landscape of the sea of Gargano from your window looking on a wide terrace. It' a quiet place, 5 km from the nearest city (Manfredonia) and a few minutes away from Vieste and Peschici. In the house there are two others apartments for rent. The villa was also the set for the sixties movie "High bright sun " whose main character was Dirk Bogarde. Notes: The old villa is situated in the National Park of Gargano. All around there are many olive trees, the main growing in the zone. Gargano is a different proposition to the rest of Puglia; a rugged spur jutting out from the coast covered in forests is now a 15,000 hectare nature reserve, the Parco Nazionale di Gargano and is home to thousands of different species of flora and fauna, including deer and wildcats. Also in the park you can visit the Foresta Umbra or "Forest of Shadows", a beautiful blanket of Aleppo pine, oak and beech. The Gargano is also home to some of Puglia's best beaches. Its capital, Vieste, is a pretty medieval town that gets incredibly busy in the summer . You can also easily reach many beaches by car not far from the house.
