Our house is located in the quaint, friendly village of Claviers (population, about 400), in the heart of the Var region of Provence. Over 300 years old, it has a considerable amount of square footage, which makes it very roomy by European standards. The house is in the process of being refurbished with new furniture and beds. Check back soon for photos! The house has 3 floors. The living room, kitchen, and a bathroom (no shower) are on the 1st floor. The 2nd floor consists of 2 bedrooms, overlooking the village square. This bedroom has a queen-size bed. The other bedroom on this floor contains two single beds. The main bathroom is also on this floor. The 3rd floor has 2 bedrooms as well, 1 containing 2 more single beds. The master bedroom, recently renovated, is HUGE, and contains a queen-sized bed. It also has a huge set of French windows, which open to reveal a STUNNING VIEW (see photos) of the village and surrounding mountains and countryside. The house is in the center of Claviers, a "perched village" similar to many others in the region. Though the village is small, it has two (excellent) restaurants, two bars, a general store, a bakery, a post office, and a few small businesses. The village is often tranquil and quiet, but in the summer months it can be busy. Neighboring villages include Bargemon and Fayence, both considerably larger, and with a wider assortment of goods and services. Claviers is an ideal location, approximately 1 hour from Nice and Cannes, and a short driving distance from countless other attractions of Provence. Bus service to and from Claviers does exist, but it's sporadic. It is therefore recommended that guests have access to a car
