This beautifully renovated, immaculate cottage at the mouth of the New Meadows River, is an hour north of Portland and just steps away from the high tide mark. Wake up to southwesterly views of Casco Bay, breathe in the salt air, and watch the comings and goings of local lobstermen as you adjust to a slower pace. In fact, any one of them would be happy to provide you with dinner fresh from the boat. Down a short right of way, kayaks and other hand-carried boats can be launched from a small pebble beach where Adirondack chairs and a cedar picnic table overlook the water. Easy day trips can be made to charming Camden or Boothbay Harbor, L. L. Bean and numerous outlets in Freeport, and the historic Old Port in Portland. Cultural attractions in the area include the Portland Museum of Art in downtown Portland, the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, and the Farnsworth Museum up the coast in Rockland. At nearby Bowdoin College, Maine State Music Theater offers professional summer theater at its best. The local area has much to offer, and whether you prefer to stay active or relax in the sun at the beach, you'll enjoy your stay in these bright, breezy surroundings. This is the perfect cottage if you plan to attend a wedding on the Phippsburg peninsula.
