Twin Lakes Cottage

Salisbury, Connecticut
This is what you come here for. To enjoy the lake. Picture is taken from the deck.
View to the east from the dock.
Where to drink your coffee and tea, with newspaper or a good book. If you sit still, the chickadees will come eat sunflower seeds out of your hand.
Most new folks think this is the front of the cottage.... but once you\'ve spent your first day, you\'ll be calling this the back.
Have fun feeding the sunfish. If you\'re blessed, one may nibble your leg!
If you come in August, you should find some ripe raspberries along the road.
Lots of fun for active kids.... of any age. Fishing, ski, or pontoon boat rentals available at O\'Hara\'s.
The end of our picture show can be the beginning of your story at Twin Lakes.

Property DescriptionGreat casual summer place for a small family or a couple with room for guests. Great room, master bedroom, and kitchen overlook the lake and dock 35 feet away. Great room has firestove, cozy corner, and table, but most sit on barstools at the kitchen counter... unless they eat out on the deck (where, if you sit still the chickadees will eat sunflower seeds out of your hand). The bunk beds in the kids room can be made into twin beds. The beautiful main lake is a mile across. The landmark "Alvord's Tower" forms a scenic backdrop to your kids swimming off your dock. Boat over to O'Hara's for lunch, refill your skiboat, or buy your bait. Paddle through the lily pond into the 2nd lake, and on down the channel for a good morning's paddle. Or find the entrance to the hidden pond where the beaver may still live. Pack a lunch for a trip to One-Tree Island. (Or as the local kids call it, Birdpoop Island.) Click on each small photo above to enlarge and display its comment. Note you will be living in the country. There are country critters. Occasionally the lightning knocks out the electricity. Tap water comes from the lake, so order drinking water delivered, or do like we do and go fill the 2 gallon jugs from the town spring in Salisbury. The best testament to how much our renters like it here, most of them have come back more than one season. Five only stopped renting because they bought their own homes on Twin Lakes.
