Nearby is a premier singletrack bike trail known as the Monarch Crest Trail. Hikers flock to the valley to hike the many “fourteeners” (mountain peaks over 14,000 feet high) that ring Salida. Fly fishing is wonderful from the banks of the Arkansas or from a guided raft.
