Family activity options make spot worth a two week trip: Rent ski or house boats at the local marinas (1 mile away) Mt bike, quad or horse ride on numerous mountain trails, kayak the lake, sail, jet ski, river raft, fly fish, charter fishing boats and swim in warm Lake Shasta. We have wonderful places to visit close by: Turtle Bay Exploration Park and Museum with many things to explore—jungle gyms, kid's art, live butterflies and other exhibits, famous Sundial Bridge and river trails; Shasta Caverns are beautiful and fun to visit; kids really love the water slide park and the snow at two breathtaking mountains—Mount Shasta and Mount Lassen (most times with snow through June). It's only 1 ½ hours away to ski or ice skate at an outdoor rink; art galleries and two shopping malls are close (15 minutes to Redding). Great golf courses are in the vicinity. You will find dancing and dining places within a mile and a full grocery store/deli is only five miles away. Shasta Lake has 380 miles of shoreline to explore and Shasta dam and Shasta caverns are a marvel.
